Horticulture/agriculture education or experience is considered a strong asset
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with all levels of employees and management

Must have access to reliable transportation to work full-time hours as scheduled (40 hours per week)
Must have the ability to provide a criminal records check that is clear of any charges that could be related or have a direct correlation to the position or company

Job Description:
Overall Job Purpose:
Reporting directly to the Tissue Culture Manager, the Lab Labourer will be responsible for strictly following SOP’s to perform typical micropropagation tasks, assisting with plant media production, employing sterile technique, maintaining a clean workspace, and capturing data for production-related activities.
This is a hardworking, hands-on, rolls-up-your-sleeves environment emphasizing a team-oriented and collaborative style. It will be key for the candidate to embrace change and see past obstacles with a focus on solutions in the context of a company undergoing rapid growth and ongoing functional integration.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Cutting of plants based on production schedules created by Management
Monitoring plants for growth, contamination and lighting
Preparation of daily solutions and various volumes of media as needed
Daily use of multiple pieces of equipment (small and large)
Detailed record keeping for each batch
Dispensing of applicable medium to a variety of vessels
Careful and accurate tagging of each vessel
Daily cleaning of workspace, work tools and functional work surfaces
Bi-weekly general cleaning of department premises
Additional monthly and biannual cleaning of department premises as assigned
Additional cleaning and maintenance of department equipment
Communication to leader on inventory of department consumables
Ensuring accurate and detailed records are maintained for all daily department tasks
Other duties as assigned

$17.00
