Job Description:
Port Hill Milking Company (PHMC) is a dairy farm located in Port Hill, PE. PHMC has been in operation for 30 years. PHMC currently is milking 130 cows and care for over 300 in total. PHMC also grows our own forages, corn and barley. We are looking to hire a full time staff to perform various duties around the farm. This individual would work with a team of owners and other employees.
PHMC currently milks its cows in a double 8 parallel parlour. The cows are milked twice a day.
Duties:
Milking Cows
General repairs and maintenance of milk equipment and milking parlour
Bedding Cattle
Handling Cattle
Operating Farm equipment (Skidsteers and Tractors)
Other duties as required
Hours:
50 hrs/week.
Every 2nd weekend staff would be required to some milking shifts.
May included additional hours and some evenings in busy seasons
Wages:
$14-18/h Depending on Experience
