Farm Type: Christmas Trees, Woodlot
Farm Hours: 10am-4pm
Description: Watts Tree Farm is a 100 acre manage woodlot with 5 acres in Christmas tree plantations. The primary species for Christmas tree production is balsam fir with smaller amounts of White pine, Korean fir and Fraser fir. The brief tour will focus on the production of Christmas trees with a demonstration and explanation of tree shearing. In addition to the Christmas trees there will be a static display (with a brief explanation of the process) of our Hand Turned wood pens. These pens are a value added product that are made primarily from wood from the woodlot. Both the Christmas trees and wood pens are examples of utilizing our forest resources to generate income. The tour and explanations should take less than 30 minutes. However, visitors are welcome to stay as long as they like and enjoy the woodlot as well as ask questions regarding other aspects of forest management.
Items For Sale: Hand Turned wood pens will be available for explanation and purchase.
