Job Description:
Looking for a hired potato farm hand. 9-12 months of the year, depending on qualifications, it could lead to year-round work. Some experience an asset, willing to train as well. Must be able to workdays, some (evenings and weekends) depending on time of year. 40hrs/week except in peak season IE: Spring/Fall 45 to 55 hrs.
Must have:
-Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
-Basic knowledge of welding
-Basic Mechanic knowledge
-have or willing to obtain a Class 1 & 3 License
-Basic knowledge of operating farm machinery, tractor, Forklift etc.
-knowledge of running heavy equipment, or willing to learn: Excavator, dozer, loader etc.
-Should be able to lift 60-70lbs roughly
-Ability to perform repetitive tasks with ability and accuracy
-Capable of standing for long periods of time
-Assist with maintenance of facilities and equipment.
-Any other duties as required
Applicant must be able to work with limited supervision, and be proactive, follow processes and procedures with respect to on farm safety protocols, comply with Food Safety protocols and follow all safety procedures while working. IE: steel toed boots, eye protection etc.
