Temporary fulltime

up to 3 months

Successful Candidate will possess the following Qualifications:

-Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license. Class 3A or the ability to obtain one would be an asset;
-Valid Class A Pesticide Applicator Certificate or the ability to obtain one.
-Ability to lift up to 55lbs (25kg);
-Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends;
-Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions;
-Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment;
-High degree of attention to detail;
-Mechanical aptitude;
-Previous experience working on potato farm operations would be an asset.

Job Description:
Seasonal Farm Equipment Operator

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States and around the world. We have two state-of-the-art potato processing plants in PEI. Two others in Jamestown, ND and Lethbridge, Alberta as well as an appetizer plant in Wheatley, ON. Our Head office is in Dieppe, NB.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Farm Equipment Operator will be a results-driven, self-starter who is always looking for opportunities for improvement and has the ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic work environment. Expected start date will be on or about April 1st, 2021 for planting (weather dependent).


Key Responsibilities:
-Equipment operation i.e. planter, sprayer, windrower, harvester, water truck, forklift and irrigation equipment (if qualified);
-Equipment repair and maintenance;
-All other duties as assigned.
