AITC-PEI is seeking a dynamic individual looking for experience in program management, coordination, and delivery, as well as communications and educational resource development.
The candidate should:

- EITHER
A student entering or continuing their post-secondary studies in the fall, ideally in a field related to Education, Business Management, Marketing, and/or Agriculture.
OR
High School student with experience
- Have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with a positive attitude and desire to learn.
- Work well both independently and within a small team environment.
- Have basic computer and digital skills, include an understanding of common social media platforms.
- Be knowledgeable about the agriculture industry on PEI and have an interest in promoting agriculture education to students, educators, and the general public.
- Have a driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Agriculture in the Classroom PEI (AITC-PEI) is a non-profit organization committed to providing accurate, balanced, and current curriculum-linked agri-food resources, programs, and initiatives based in science. AITC Canada is the national voice for agriculture education with a vision for agriculture in every classroom, inspiring every student. As one of 10 provincial member organizations, AITC-PEI acts locally to engage Island students and educators to enhance their knowledge of agriculture and food.

Job Description

The full-time Summer Program Assistant will act as an ambassador for agriculture education by:
- Assisting in the coordination, development, and delivery of AITC-PEI’s initiatives and public outreach events, including preparing educational activities for local fairs and exhibitions.
- Supporting the development and dissemination of educational resources by researching initiatives and adapting teaching tools and in-school programs to suit provincial curriculum and identifying methods for sharing resources with Island teachers and students, such as virtual farm tours and career exploration activities.

- Contributing to the development of a cohesive social media marketing and communications plan while assisting with the development of promotional materials, creating website content, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Wages:
$18.50 for 35 hours per week
