This is a six-week position for 37.5 hours/week with possibility of extension.
Required Skills:
 Must have computer skills, primarily webinar and video creation abilities
 Must be familiar with establishing ZOOM meetings and interfacing with other technologies for online workshops
 Must be enrolled in a Post-Secondary Program, preferably Agriculture related.
 Comfortable with public speaking with large or small crowds.
 Knowledge of office software programs, able to multitask, have strong organizational capabilities and have experience presenting to different age groups, from diverse backgrounds.
 A strong working knowledge of the Island Agriculture is a must.
 Strong reading and writing skills will be mandatory as this job requires sending correspondence to partners and creating farm safety documents.

The PEI Federation of Agriculture is seeking a
Farm Safety Special Events Organizer

The PEI Federation of Agriculture (PEIFA) is a non-profit, democratic organization that exists to help improve the sustainability of Island Farmers and farm families. The organization speaks to issues that are not commodity- specific but affect all Island farmers. We are the largest general agricultural organization in P.E.I. with a membership of over 80% of all registered producers, drawn from all commodities. The PEIFA has mandated farm safety as a priority interest for the organization and is looking for a summer student to work alongside the Farm Safety Coordinator to help organize, promote and implement events that support enhanced farm safety practices on Island farms.

The Farm Safety Special Events Organizer will:
The Summer Student will be expected to be able to work alone and in groups to assist in the tasks required to the development of specialized farm safety events for the Federation members and the general public. The successful applicant will be responsible for organizing rentals, booking itineraries and collaborating with shareholders to obtain sponsorship and support of PEIFA hosted events. The successful applicant will work with agriculture professionals and will gain experience in a professional office setting. They will work as a part of a team, to assist in the development of innovative, educational events and activities that will cater to a diverse group of participants. The successful candidate will receive one on one mentoring throughout the summer.

Wages:
$13.50/hour for 37.5 hours/week
