Required Skills:
• 2-3 years Quality Control/Quality Assurance experience specifically in the meat processing industry and a unionized environment
• Bachelor of Science in a food-related discipline (e.g. food science, microbiology)
• Excellent working knowledge of quality assurance principles, meat plant regulatory standards, including CFIA, GMP and HACCP
• Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership skills and the ability to work in a team environment
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision
• Must be able to collaborate in a team environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to trouble shoot and problem-solve with sound judgement
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities

Job Description:
Atlantic Beef Products Inc., located in Albany, Prince Edward Island, is the only federally inspected beef slaughter, cut and grind facility in Atlantic Canada and serves retail and foodservice customers and the beef and dairy industry in the region. We are looking for a dynamic individual to fill the following role:

QUALITY ASSURANCE COORDINATOR

Role Purpose: Reviews, updates and maintains all written programs, SOPs, Work Instructions, and HACCP plans to ensure they are current, accurate, both to plant procedures and regulatory requirements through CFIA and BRC.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Working directly with the plant manager, the quality assurance coordinator will serve as the key contact in our HACCP Program and Food Safety protocols
• Training new employees to comply with the methods of quality management systems and environment
• Prepare necessary documentation for all training related to QA, and ensures that all training is completed
• Analyzing complaints and non-conformities and proposing solutions
• Ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications
• Following laboratory safety policies, company policies, procedures and standards for safety (GMP’s & HACCP)
• Conduct CVS tasks with CFIA inspectors and ensure all corrective actions for IRCs and CARs are completed in a timely manner
• Verification of daily QA technician/plant monitoring records for accuracy and completed follow up to identified deviations.
