Required Skills:
Mechanical aptitude and previous experience working in farm operations would be considered an asset.
• Ability to work up to 6 days a week (weather permitting)
• Experience operating farm machinery including tractors, planters, harvesters and windrowers.
• Ability to work independently
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Work Schedule:
Some overtime, Shift work, Week-ends, Evenings, Weekdays
Job Description:
The Seasonal Farm Equipment Operator position is a seasonal full time position during our fall potato harvest season that involves operating various farm equipment in the harvesting of our potatoes from various fields across PEI.
Operate farm machinery such as tractors, harvesters and windrowers.
• Cultivate and harvest crops using equipment and machinery
• Load product into trucks in the field
• Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools.
• Comply with health and safety and food safety standards
• Other related duties as required
Work hours are dependent on weather with flexibility to work days, evenings and Saturdays would be required
